Altria’s oral tobacco segment stays strong in Q1 amid challenges in other categories

Altria reported some declines in the first quarter of 2025, but its oral tobacco products segment maintained momentum in a competitive marketplace.

During the presentation of its first-quarter results, Altria said the oral tobacco products segment reported domestic shipment volume down by 5%, primarily driven by retail share losses, calendar differences, trade inventory movements and other factors, partially offset by the industry’s growth rate.
