South Korea: heated tobacco and herbal heated product regulation, June 2025

The National Health Promotion Act Enforcement Decree establishes definitions for different tobacco products in South Korea.

Heated tobacco products are considered a type of e-cigarette, and are defined as a product made to produce the same effect as smoking by inhaling a nicotine solution or tobacco via an electronic device.

Numerous bills have been introduced to amend the tobacco legislation in the current legislative term (since April 2024).
