Swedish consumer ombudsman sues Westridge for TikTok nicotine pouch ads

Santa opening an advent calendar and people taste-testing nicotine pouches on TikTok is not acceptable marketing, says the Swedish Consumer Agency (KO). The consumer ombudsman is suing Westridge Group for breaking the legal requirements for nicotine product ads.

In April, the KO requested that the Patent and Market Court prohibit Westridge from marketing nicotine pouches on TikTok. It also wants the court to ban marketing that features employees joking and reviewing nicotine products.
