Potential for convergence of HT and vape technologies discussed at GTNF in Seoul

Future innovation in vaping and tobacco alternatives is likely to involve environmental improvements and prevention of youth usage, according to speakers at the recent Global Tobacco and Nicotine Forum (GTNF) in Seoul, South Korea, while customisation of products to individual users’ needs may also be high on the agenda.

Another major area of innovation could lie in combining elements of vaping and heated tobacco technology to make better products, said Ming Deng, head of the Next-generation Products (NGP) Industry Study at Yunnan University in China. South Korean company KT&G is already developing a combination device, and Ming believes others will not be far behind.
