- Iraq: Majid Shingali, head of the Health and Environment Committee of the Council of Representatives, told press that the Protection Against Tobacco Damage Bill is in its final stages after all discussions were completed and that meetings with stakeholders are currently being held to ensure that the law is comprehensive. The bill regulates electronic nicotine products under the tobacco framework for age restriction, advertising and public place usage. It also imposes notification and labelling requirements.

- Iraq: The Nineveh health directorate of the Ministry of Health issued an order prohibiting the entry of heated tobacco products and e-cigarettes onto any of its premises, adding that the civil defence unit official will be responsible for the enforcement of this order.

Iraq: The Erbil Governorate in Kurdistan yesterday issued a notice prohibiting the marketing and advertising of all tobacco products through the media, either written, visual, audio or social, press reports. Iraq’s anti-smoking law bans the advertising of tobacco, but does not directly mention the advertising of novel nicotine products.
