- Myanmar: The meeting of the Central Committee for Tobacco and Tobacco Product Consumption Control took place to address smoking and tobacco use. The Ministry of Health announced forthcoming regional and state-level controls, including an expansion of smoke-free areas. The ministry also said that it would soon be regulating e-cigarettes due to their prevalence among young people, as the product is currently still unregulated.

- Myanmar: The Ministry of Health and Population announced stricter enforcement of the 2011 Tobacco Control and Regulation Act in the wake of recent violations found at festivals and fairs. The authorities will focus on advertising and take a firmer approach to promotional activities at such events, reminding tobacco manufacturers that any form of advertisement is prohibited across all public platforms.

- Myanmar: From 10th April standardised packaging will be mandatory for almost all tobacco products. The regulation requires the outer surfaces of product packages to be presented in a standardised dull brown colour, and health warnings need to be printed on 75% of the front and back surfaces. Companies will have a 90-day transitional period. It is still not clear if harm-reduction products will have to comply or not with the new requirements.
