Slovenia: The Public Relations Office of the Slovenian parliament has told TobaccoIntelligence that the parliamentary debate of the
bill transposing the
EU-wide heated tobacco flavour ban into the Slovenian legal framework, bringing nicotine pouches under the
Tobacco Law, and including herbal heated products in the definition of herbal products for smoking, would resume immediately at the end of the
TRIS standstill period (13th February 2024) if no feedback is submitted by other EU member states or the European Commission. Alternatively, if detailed clarifications were to be requested by member states or the European Commission, the standstill period would be extended to May 2024, and the government would want to adopt the bill in the same month.
