Few European countries hit the deadline for implementing the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUP) to reduce the environmental impact of certain plastics – including those in heated tobacco filters – a TobaccoIntelligence investigation found.
Our survey revealed that only a few countries had transposed the Directive into national law before the 3rd July 2021 deadline set by the European Commission. Some others have not yet transposed the directive, while others are in the process of adapting its provisions.
