Imperial Brands has confirmed the launch of its first heated tobacco product Pulze in early 2019 in Japan, with the country proving a fertile market for heated tobacco products.

It is currently unclear whether this will be a nationwide roll-out or with selected areas targeted prior to a country-wide launch. The company is producing its own consumables, which will be called iD.

A spokesperson at the tobacco multinational headquartered in Bristol, England told ECigIntelligence that consumer trials that the company announced during the presentation of the financial results last May performed “extremely well” in Japan.
