Description

On 11th July 2023, the oral tobacco ban, including the ban on snus, comes into force in Ukraine. Chewing tobacco is legal, and its regulation is similar to that of tobacco products. Nicotine pouches are not specifically regulated, so only general consumer legislation applies.

As of 11th July 2023, new product restrictions as well as additional advertising, notification and labelling restrictions will enter into force. The introduction of a flavour ban for heated tobacco is possible in the near future. We also expect additional retail channel restrictions and the introduction of electronic excise stamps enabling the traceability of tobacco products.
