The regulatory framework for heated tobacco products in New Zealand is undergoing a major change. Though they were specifically banned, the government has now decided to create a comprehensive framework for these products and thus legalise them together with vape products. It is likely that any additional new regulations adopted in the near future will be in line with the UK approach, and therefore the EU’s Tobacco Products Directive (TPD).
