France will not raise taxes in its tobacco control plan for 2024, prime minister Élisabeth Borne has promised, though she said “other measures” would be taken.
Details remain scanty following Borne’s 3rd September interview with French broadcaster RTL, in which she said that “this year we gave a signal on prices, next year we are not planning to raise taxes, but we will introduce new measures such as the ban on puffs”, a French term for disposable e-cigarettes.
