Canada’s health minister seeks radical new powers to police nicotine pouches

Canada’s health minister is looking to get radical new powers specifically to impose restrictions on the sale of nicotine pouches across the country.

Speaking to reporters on Parliament Hill on 20th March, Mark Holland said he wants the power to restrict flavours in nicotine pouches and to approve marketing campaigns for nicotine pouches, and wants to work with provincial and territorial governments to require that nicotine pouches be kept behind store counters in an attempt to make them less attractive to youth.
