US - Georgia: House Bill 96 has been introduced. The bill would amend Georgia’s tobacco tax law by increasing the excise tax on cigarettes from $0.37 to $1.37 per pack of 20 cigarettes. We understand that heated tobacco products (HTPs) would be taxed as cigarettes in Georgia. Since there is no separate category/legislation specifically addressing HTPs, the cigarette tax would be applied.

US - Georgia: Two bills have been introduced that would increase the tax rate on cigarettes. House Bill 83 would increase tax from $0.37 to $0.57 per pack of 20 cigarettes, while House Bill 96 would increase the tax rate to $1.37 per pack. Heated tobacco products fall under the category of cigarettes.
