The Israeli Ministry of Health has published plans for tax increases, a flavour ban, new retail restrictions and other measures that would apply to all smoking and tobacco products, in advance of a public consultation aimed at amending the Tobacco Law.
The proposal was put together by the National Team to Eradicate the Use of E-cigarettes by Youth – a subcommittee formed by the Ministry of Health in June. It aims to curb the use of alternative nicotine products among young people, following the hospitalisation of two teenagers after the use of an e-cigarette and the death of one of them.
