A proposal in Poland to increase excise duties applying to innovative tobacco products, including heated tobacco, was passed by the parliament (Sejm) and is now waiting for the decision of the Senate.
The new bill presented by the Ministry of Finance to amend the country’s Excise Tax Act establishes a progressive rise in the excise duty, from a rate in 2022 of PLN311.58 (€66.38) per kg and 32.05% of the weighted average price of smoking tobacco.
