Thailand: heated tobacco and herbal heated product regulation, November 2024

In 2014, the Notification prohibited the import of all types of HTPs into the country. The subsequent orders expanded these restrictions to include bans on possession, sale, and distribution of HTPs, empowering the Consumer Protection Board authority to monitor and strictly enforce these prohibitions. Since 2023, these products have been seized and smugglers prosecuted under the established regulations.

This report offers a detailed analysis of the current regulatory framework in place in Thailand for heated tobacco and herbal heated products, covering all policy areas from advertising and taxation to notification and labelling.
