The UK Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has published its post-implementation review of the country’s tobacco legislation. It follows a public consultation on the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations (TRPR), which highlighted the view that nicotine pouches should be regulated under a similar framework to those for tobacco and related products.

The government said it would consider this and has asked the Committee on Toxicity to examine the toxicological risks from tobacco-free oral nicotine pouches.
