United Arab Emirates: oral tobacco and nicotine pouch regulation, February 2024

In October 2022, the Federal Authority For Identity And Citizenship, Customs And Port Security told TobaccoIntelligence that oral tobacco – including chewing tobacco, snus, swika, shamma and tumbak – are banned in the UAE. Nicotine pouches are not specifically regulated and do not fall under the scope of tobacco legislation.
