As Britain’s new prime minister, Keir Starmer, settles into 10 Downing Street, attempts are already being made to push novel nicotine regulation to the top of his agenda. At the same time, of course, similar attempts are being made by lobbyists and stakeholders in every sector.
The British Medical Journal (BMJ) has published an open letter signed by more than 1,400 academics and health professions urging Starmer’s Labour government to “put reintroduction of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill…front and centre”.
