More than 24,000 responses were received to a call for evidence regarding the initiative published by the European Commission in May evaluating the legal framework that will shape the future revised Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) and Tobacco Advertising Directive.
The Commission will now review the comments, 93% of which came from EU citizens, with just 3% coming from companies and business organisations and the remaining 4% divided between associations, consumer organisations, NGOs and academic/research institutions.
