Slovenia: The government-approved
draft of the bill that would transpose the the
EU-wide heated tobacco flavour ban into the Slovenian legal framework has been published and
sent to the European Commission via the TRIS notification system. In addition to bringing nicotine pouches under the
Tobacco Law, the new draft includes herbal heated products in the definition of herbal products for smoking, making them subject to the same regime. The government has proposed to approve the bill through the shortened procedure, which, if the Collegium of the Presidency of the National Assembly decides on favourably, would skip the bill's general discussion in the National Assembly, and the second and third hearings would be held in the same session. The end of the TRIS standstill period is 13th February 2024.
