Malaysia: heated tobacco regulation, February 2024

Heated tobacco is set to become increasingly restricted in Malaysia, once the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Law 2023, passed in the parliament in November 2023, enters into force.

The date of entry into force will be set by the Ministry of Health, after the law is published in the Official Gazette, which may coincide with the publication of the government regulation related to the law.

This report provides detailed analysis of the current and near-future regulatory framework in place in Malaysia for heated tobacco and herbal heated products.
