Heated tobacco products are regulated in the Philippines along with electronic cigarettes by an Act that applies many of the existing regulations on traditional cigarettes to both products. Snus and other traditional oral tobacco products are also allowed and are defined as “tobacco products” in the Philippines and are therefore subject to the same regulations as traditional cigarettes concerning packaging, use, sale, distribution and advertising. This report provides a detailed overview of both heated tobacco and modern oral tobacco products, looking at the current regulatory framework as well as possible upcoming changes in the regulation.
