Heated tobacco: product definitions and brands

A heated tobacco device is a product that heats a tobacco stick – similar in appearance to a combustible cigarette. It reaches much lower temperatures than cigarettes, however, and avoids combustion, making it likely to be less harmful. Unlike e-cigarettes, these products don’t contain any liquid – except for hybrid products, which use an e-liquid to heat the tobacco stick or whatever form the product may have.

This short report provides an overview of the main heated tobacco products and brands, covering the major Big Tobacco brands and their products as well as compatible hardware and consumable products.
