Heated tobacco and heating devices are regulated under the Tobacco Law in Moldova. Heated tobacco was defined for the first time in the Tobacco Law with the introduction of Law no. 97/2019 amending the Tobacco Law and the Fiscal Code. It is defined as an unburnt tobacco product, intended for use by means of a device for heating tobacco and other compounds, to produce an aerosol for inhalation and which does not involve a combustion process.
