Sweden could reduce snus tax this year, while increasing other tobacco taxes

The Swedish government is taking the slightly unusual step of proposing a tax reduction of 20% on snus while increasing taxes on traditional cigarettes and smoking tobacco products.

These measures were announced in the 2024 budget proposition in February and would enter into force on 1st November this year if approved.
